The problem

Dating apps in Tunisia are full of fake profiles, made for other markets, and feel empty. People wait for chance instead.

What I built

Matchy Matchy is a dating app made for Tunisia: real people, checked by hand, and a reason to open the app every evening.

  • Discover: swipe through nearby profiles (like, pass, super like), with their interests and city
  • Matches: mutual likes become a match, with one-tap icebreakers to start the chat, then chat and video calls
  • Blue badge, checked by hand: our team checks a selfie and an ID, and the documents are deleted after the check
  • Every evening, 21h–23h: Blind date, five minutes of chat with no photo or name, then both decide whether to reveal; and Vidéo surprise, a video call that stays blurred until both say yes
  • Every day: a daily question, "Ceci ou cela" and group rooms
  • Three languages: French, Arabic (fully right to left) and English
  • Admin panel: moderation, the verification queue, statistics, leads, campaign links that show which ad brings real sign-ups, and the APK download count
  • Infrastructure: my own server with automatic deploys, plus the marketing website with a 3D phone that plays the app

The stack

Flutter for the app, shipped as a web PWA and an Android app. A PHP and MySQL backend on my own VPS behind nginx, Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications and WebRTC for video calls. The marketing site is static HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
